Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I've never done yoga?

That's ok! Almost all of our classes are beginner-friendly and considered all-levels. It's a good idea to start with something slower paced to get your groove first - we recommend a class with the intensity level 3 or below. We are always happy to chat ahead of your first visit to help prepare you and determine which class will be a good fit. Zoom consult calls are always available - just 15 min or less to get to know each other and see if our studio will be a good fit for your goals. Email info@dmwellnessyoga.com to schedule!

  • What do I need to bring to class?

Many of our students choose to bring their own yoga mat and a water bottle to class. All props and materials are available at the studio, including mats, so you are not required to bring anything. Cubby spaces are provided upon entry for you to place your shoes and other personal belongings during class.

  • Where do I park at the studio?

The DM Wellness & Yoga studio faces 42nd St (just south of Friedrich’s Coffee). There is ample parking available in the lot to the north, which is the main Uptown Shopping Center (& Hy-Vee) parking lot. There is also a small lot just south of the building where you can park, but there are only a few non-handicap spots.

  • How do I choose the right class for me?

Be sure to read the class descriptions! I sent these out a couple days ago and am happy to reshare that email if you missed it. They will all be updated on the website later this week, but for now are all available within the schedule as you go to book your class. Each description will tell you what the class is like, some information about the “feel” of class, the physical intensity level, and some info on the teacher. If you want help deciding what would be a good fit, feel free to reach out! We love to connect and chat about what will serve you.

  • How do I book a class? What is fitDEGREE?

You can book class on our website at www.dmwellnessyoga.com/schedule or via the fitDEGREE app on your smartphone. fitDEGREE is our booking platform which allows you to track your registrations and payments. If using the app, simply search for ‘DM Wellness & Yoga’ (DM is usually all you have to type for us to pop up) in the search bar that says ‘Select your FitSpot’. Once on our page, create your login and start booking!

  • How much does it cost to attend? Why would I want a class pack?

A single drop-in class is $18. Class packs are available (5 for $80; 10 for $145; 15 for $205; 20 for $255) - the more classes you attend the better rate per class! Having a class pack also makes it easier to track and modify your class reservations and also provides access to bonus offerings for the term. In Term 2 (April - June) package-holders have free access to the weekly Meditation & Breath class.

  • What does Term 2 mean? Am I committed the whole time?

Term 2 represents classes that are happening between April 7th and June 22nd. Ther Term is a session of 11 full weeks of classes/programming. Term 2 class packs are good for any weekly group classes happening April through June. The Term simply relates to the schedule of classes offered and class package discounts, but is not the same as a series - you aren't committed to all or nothing. All classes on the schedule are available for drop-in. However, there is additional benefit in coming regularly throughout the term to the same class as we carry certain themes through the session and sometimes build into physical progressions.

  • Can I share my package?

Yes! Packages can be shared. This typically happens with family members/spouses, but any two people with an account in fitDEGREE can make the decision to be linked in a relationship on the back-end and share purchased items. Email Dara at info@dmwellnessyoga.com for help setting this up is you would like.

  • What's the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your class booking up to 12 hours prior to class and receive the class credit refunded back on your account automatically. Anything within 12 hours of class is considered a late cancel and a refund will not be issued. If you fail to come to class and have not cancelled your registration, a $5 no-show fee will be added to your account. We are a small studio with limited space, so we rely on you to cancel if you can't make it.
